China’ s new “ultra-low emissions regulation” for coal-fired power plants is considered as the most stringent emissions regulation in the world. This new legislation enforces air pollution emissions from all coal-fired boilers/generators to be reduced to the same level of gas-fired boilers/generators, more specifically, 35 mg/Nm3 for SO2, 50 mg/Nm3 for NOx and 10 mg/Nm3 for Particulates, before 2020. In order to help clients to comply with this upcoming regulation, JNEP has upgraded its ammonia desulfurization technology to the state-of-the-art ultrasound enhanced air pollution control technology. This new technology improves the performance of the original ammonia absorption system by optimizing spray density, liquid-gas distribution and the oxidation process. At the same time, fine particulates in the flue gas are agglomerated by scrubbing and ultrasound processes before they are removed by our patented demister. This new technology greatly improves the overall SO2 and PM removal efficiency without creating more ammonia slip. The final PM emission, within 5 mg/Nm3, is 50% lower than 10 mg/Nm3, the PM emission required by the “ultra-low emissions regulation”.
As the first project of JNEP in complying the “ultra-low emissions regulation”, our new ultrasound-based technology has successfully improved SO2 removal efficiency from the original design value 95% to the new design value 99%, and further reduced SO2 emission from 200 mg/Nm3 to 35 mg/Nm3 , and PM emission from 20 mg/Nm3 to 5 mg/Nm3.
