The wet sulfuric acid process is used to convert most H2S and SO2 to sulfuric acid. The tail gas can then be treated in the ammonia desulfurization unit, producing ammonium sulfate byproduct.
If the client also has a desulfurization requirement for boiler flue gas, tail gas from the sulfuric acid process can be combined with the boiler flue gas and treated in one ammonia desulfurization unit, further reducing capital and operating costs.
