On November 5th, Mr. Junsheng Xu, Chairman of Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group (JNEP), accompanied by Mr. David L. Phillips, Chairman of the US-Arab Bilateral Chamber of Commerce; and Mrs. Aida Araissi, President of the Chamber, paid a five-day high-level business visit in multiple countries in the Middle East, including Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait. With abundant natural gas reserves and economically supported by oil and petrochemical industry, the Middle East is the global energy center and holds enormous market opportunities. In the short five days, Chairman Mr. Junsheng Xu has attended more than ten high-level meetings with senior officials and senior managements of major companies in global oil and refining industry, including RasGas, Qatar Petroleum, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Bahrain Petroleum Company, Shell and Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations. Mr. Xu introduced JNEP’s patented technology, as well as its advantages and the significant impact it can bring to the development of the refining industry in the region. The attended senior officials and managements shows a great interest in JNEP’s technologies, considering JNEP’s acid gas treatment technology and FCC flue gas treatment technology can completely supplant traditional 2-Stage Claus + SCOT and BELCO scrubber. They agreed that JNEP’s technology is a revolutionary advanced technology, which can reduce the costs of refining industry and improve the competitiveness, and have invited JNEP to carry out in-depth communications and conduct substantive cooperation.
On the morning of November 5th, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu visited RasGas in Qatar. RasGas is one of the leading integrated LNG companies in the world. As a prestigious supplier of safe and reliable LNG, RasGas has a great number of ongoing new projects that would need JNEP’s advanced technologies to reduce the capital and operating costs of environmental protection units to improve the competitiveness. At present, RasGas is in the critical period to integrate regional energy groups into a world largest energy group. The interrogation is estimated to be completed in January next year. By then, RasGas is going to have a formal technical communication with JNEP.
On the same day afternoon, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu visited Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar, and held a friendly meeting and communication the Minister of Municipality and Environment, Mr. Mohamed Al Rumaihi, and other senior officials. The Minister offered a ceremonious reception of Chairman of the Board, Mr. Junsheng Xu, with the traditional Qahwah, showing his great respect and hospitality. The friendly dialogue lasted for hours. The Minister introduced that Qatar had tremendous natural gas reserves but was still facing technical challenges and the government had been considering how to develop the economy and protect the environment in the same time. Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu, was invited to introduce the history of air-pollution control and the change of standards in China, as well as the China’s experience, as a reference for Qatari government to establish environment policies and standards. Mr. Xu also introduced that JNEP’s technology could greatly reduce the capital and operating costs of the refining industry, as well as meet the most stringent environmental standards, bring huge benefits to companies and environments. After the communication, the Minister thought highly of the Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu’s advice and JNEP’s technologies. At 6pm, the Minister sent the government official, who is responsible for setting emission standards at the air-pollution control department, to pay a visit and further discuss establishing emission standards in details.
Shortly after the meeting with the Minister, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu met the Vice President of Qatar Petroleum Procurement and Material Department. Mr. Darrel introduced that the refining industry in Qatar was merging. As Qatar is prospering with a fast development, the retrofit of old projects and the carrying forward of new projects need a powerful support of new technologies. He stated that JNEP’s patented technologies in refining were very competitive and he would actively promote and advance the implementation of JNEP’s technology. He regarded JNEP’s technologies as a must for refining companies in Qatar to improve the competitiveness.
That evening, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu held a friendly meeting with the Associate Director of Qatar Petroleum and the former CEO of RasGas, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi. Due to that Qatar’s refining has been experiencing an interrogation, Mr. Mohannadi has been focusing on actively participate in and implement related work. He was glad that Mr. Xu set Qatar as the first stop of the trip and said that our technologies was exactly what the fast-developing Qatar needed.
On November 6th, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xualong with his delegation visited the headquarters of Qatar Petroleum and held a friendly communication with the Executive Vice Chairman of Qatar Petroleum Industrial City Abdulaziz. J Al-Mufta. The two parties reached a consensus on further promoting JNEP’s technologies in Qatar Petroleum and having further communications. Afterwards, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu left for Kuwait without stopping and met the Chairman of Kuwait Petroleum Company, HE Farouk Al Zanki. Mr. Zanki warmly welcomed the arrival of Mr. Xu. As a big oil producer, the priority of the development of the oil industry is to the emission meets regulatory standards while reducing operating costs. Mr. Zanki reckoned JNEP’s environmental protection technologies were the ones they need to considerably reduce the capital and operating costs. He passionately invited JNEP to come back to Kuwait to communicate with more senior managements and develop substantial cooperation.
On November 7th, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xualong with his delegation held a formal meeting in Bahrain with the CEO of Gulf Petrochemical Company (GPIC) and its senior management team. With rich natural gas reserves in Bahrain, GPIC is committed to the clean natural gas refining industry and has a more mature industrial chain. In the same time, GIPC attaches great importance to environmental protection, which is in line with the ideology of JNEP. Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu along with his delegation visited GPIC Industrial Park and Ecological Park. The GPIC industrial area is clean and well organized. The tree-lined and bird-surrounded ecological park has become a symbol of the city. During the meeting, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu said that GPIC’s spirit of valuing environmental protection was consistent with JNEP’s environmental concept. The corporate mission of JNEP is to use the most advanced environmental technologies to bring benefits to more countries and to protect the common living environment of human beings. During the meeting, the both sides exchanged their opinions in depth about JNEP’s technology. GPIC fully affirmed and approved the technology of our company and indicated that it would send a delegation team to China to make an on-the-spot investigation of JNEP’s technologies and projects next year.
At noon on the same day, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu along with his delegation were invited by Bahrain Petroleum (BAPCO) to visit its headquarters and met with the environmental department manager. With nearly 100 years of history, BAPCO’s company area has integrated offices, factories, living areas and commercial areas. However, due to the old equipment, many desulfurization technologies it has been using are unable to keep up with the development of environmental protection policies. JNEP’s technology is the effective solution at the right time.BAPCO’s senior management actively suggested that both sides should establish closer ties in the future and decided to promote the next communication of technical solutions and discuss the substantive cooperation between the two parties. At 3pm on the same day, Bahrain’s Minister of Electricity & Water Dr Mohamad, a member of Bahrain’s royal family, came to BAPCO to learn about our technology and expressed great interest and recognition in our technology. He said that our company represented China’s leading technical strength. Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu thanked Dr Mohamad for his recognition and said that JNEP was confident that our technology would be a win-win choice by bringing great economic and social benefits to Bahrain’s refining industry and the local environment.
After arriving in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 8th, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu met with Mr. Nejib Zaafrani, former Middle East and Africa regional consultant of Shell Company and founder of Dubai’s Top Oil Association. Mr. Zaafrani highly recognized our company’s technology after hearing the preliminary introduction and expressed his keen interest in the technical details. He solemnly told Mr. Xu that JNEP’s technology in the refining field is the world-class innovated technology which shows great significance. He hoped to introduce and promote our technology to more local enterprises and relevant personnel and he would provide fully support if we have any problems or need any help.
At 5 p.m. on the same day, Chairman of the Board, Mr. Junsheng Xu held an in-depth meeting with Mr. Fareed Salem, former head of Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Russia regions of ConocoPhillips. Before this meeting, Mr. Fareed had taken the initiative to understand the technical conditions of our technology. He proposed some questions about the technology in a very concise and effective manner. The chairman gave satisfied answers which dispelled his concerns and doubts, and praised Mr. Fareed’s dedication sprit was consistent with JNEP’s corporate culture. Mr. Fareed expressed his great appreciation and support for JNEP’s technology. He believed that the market for JNEP was huge and had great potential. As a person who has lived in the Middle East for many years and has a deep understanding of the region, Mr. Fareed said his lifelong mission was to build a better environment and increase productivity and economic efficiency. He believed that currently the economic development in the Middle East was rapid, but compared to the economic growth rate, the pace of environmental protection was still not fast enough, and our technology could greatly improve the status. He hoped to help us expand the market in the Middle East in the future and conduct further cooperation.
On the morning of November 9th, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xualong with his delegation met with Mr. Saif Ahmed Alghfali, CEO of Abu Dhabi Onshore (ADCO). Currently oil companies in Abu Dhabi are in the consolidation period and will be merged into the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. Alghfali is the former CEO of AL-HOSN, AL-HOSN ADCO will be merged into the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)soon. He told us that the current process of merging was faster than expected and was in the important period of upgrading talent and technology. They attach great importance to efficiency and environmental protection, and the company places great emphasis on the advancement and sustainability of the technology, in order to enhance their competitiveness. Mr. Alghfali thought it was the right time to introduce JNEP’s technologies to ADNOC because they are urgently need. He would bring JNEP’s brochures and other materials to the CEO and senior management, and invited us to organize a technical team as soon as possible to conduct in-depth exchanges with ADNOC for further cooperation.
During the trip to the Middle East, Chairman of JNEP, Mr. Junsheng Xu fully conveyed and strengthened the great advantages and broad prospects of JNEP’s environmental technology, through more than 10 high-level business visits in a tight schedule without a stop. Great achievements have been made in creating an excellent situation for the comprehensive promotion of JNEP’s technologies and the refining industry in the world energy center and the entire Middle East region. JNEP Group will set up a Middle East Company as a subsidiary of the JNEP Group, in parallel with the China and US subsidiary, and explore the refining business in Middle East and the world.
