On the morning of January 19, 2018, Mr. Xu, Junsheng, Chairman of Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group, met with Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi, Director of Beijing Office of the Institute for Global Environment Strategies (IGES) of Japan Public Welfare Corporation. Both parties communicated regarding their respective companies and institutes, the characteristics and advantages of ammonia-based desulfurization technology, the environmental protection policy of Japan and the application prospect of Jiangnan technology in the Japanese market. Both parties have made positive mutual recognition and reached a clear intention of further cooperation. Mr. Yuan, Min, Executive Vice President of Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group also attended the meeting.
Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi, Director of IGES Beijing, said that the Japanese government prefers pushing for more stringent emission standards. Jiangnan’s Efficient Ammonia Based Desulfurization (EADS) technology was praised by Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi as high SO2 removal efficiency, excellent economic efficiency, no CO2 emission, no discharge of wastes and integrated DeSOx and dust removal technology. These significant advantages were considered as the key solutions for Japanese new coal-fired power plant to meet environmental protection requirement. Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi said Jiangnan’s EADS technology meets the needs of the current market and is very promising. EADS technology would have an unexpected huge market in Japan after the new regulations are issued and he is willing to promoting China’s advanced technology in Japan.
Mr. Xu, Junsheng, Chairman of Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi for his recognition of Jiangnan’s environmental protection technology and the prospects for the market in Japan. He said that Jiangnan’s EADS technology provided new ideas for the Japanese government to solve the pollution problem caused by coal-fired power plants. At the same time, EADS technology could substantially lower the environmental protection operating cost. This is an advanced solution that could achieve win-win results for the environment, government, people, and enterprises.
Mr. Xu Junsheng, Chairman of Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group, said that IGES and Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi had introduced a lot of Japanese advanced technologies to China as ambassadors of environmental protection cooperation between two countries. He hoped that IGES and Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi promote the outstanding Chinese technologies such as Jiangnan’s EADS to Japan in order to truly achieve a two-way exchange of excellent environmental technologies between both countries. Mr. Hideaki Koyanagi agreed and decided to visit Jiangnan Environmental Protection Group in order to further deepen his understanding of Jiangnan’s EADS technology.
IGES is an international research institution established under the initiative of the Japanese government. It was established in 1998 to achieve sustainable development in the Asia-pacific region and to conduct practical and innovative environmental policy research. In June 2009, IGES was designated as an important bridge for environmental cooperation between China and Japan in the memorandum signed by the environmental ministers of China and Japan. IGES has promoted a large number of China-Japan environmental cooperation projects in China.
