— CEA supports JNG to adopt BOT model for power plant promotion in India
JNG | 12 June, 2019
On June 12, 2019, Chairman Xu of JNG paid a special visit to the Central Electricity Authority of India (CEA) and met with Mr. Mhaske, Chairman of CEA.
Chairman Xu introduced to Mr. Mhaske the strategic planning and implementation points of Jiangnan Environmental Protection Plan to promote the development of India’s desulfurization market by adopting BOT business model, in order to solve the problems that the Indian power companies are underfunded and the desulfurization market is difficult to fully launch. This is a very beneficial model for power enterprises, the Indian government, the Indian people and investors. In this regard, Mr. Mhske said that the outstanding economic nature of ammonia desulfurization made it feasible and superior to adopt BOT model. BOT model is very suitable for the current Indian desulfurization market. CEA will support and encourage JNG to adopt BOT model for promotion and application in Indian power plants. Mr. Mhske promised to actively promote and implement the issues necessary to promote BOT model, such as the direct payment of electricity charges to investors suggested by Chairman Xu, in order to ensure the recovery of BOT investment, the enjoyment of fertilizer subsidies by the Indian government for ammonium sulfate fertilizer and derivative fertilizer products. At the meeting, the two sides also discussed and decided that CEA dispatched technical experts to China to conduct detailed inspections on ammonia desulfurization technology.
